Owner of Fineartframeworks

Ed Messikian

Founder & President

Edward Messikian earned a BFA in Painting and Photography. Edward began his art career in the museum field at The Bergen Museum of Art & Science, working as the Head Preparator where he curated, arranged and installed museum exhibitions.

He went on to master the craft of frame-making for galleries and fine artists, including Robert Miller Gallery, Pace/MacGill Gallery, Andy Warhol, Louise Bourgeois, and Robert Mapplethorpe, among others. He then joined the acclaimed Holly Solomon Gallery, where he continued to master the art of installation in the gallery setting.

Edward was invited to become the head preparator of the prestigious Chase Manhattan Collection, a position he held for fifteen years. The bank’s collection was broad in focus and material, containing Contemporary, Folk, African, Asian, and Native American art.

This intensive work gave Edward expertise in a broad swath of art media and origin where he worked with local curators, installers, framers, conservators and archivists.

Fine Art Frameworks is the culmination of these experiences.
